Effects of Aqua - acupuncture with Gentianae scabrae Radix and Bupleuri Radix Extract on Serum Activities of GOT , GPT , LDH , ALP and r-GTP in Damaged Rat Liver induced by the Carbon Tetracholoride ( CCl 4 )

Abstract

This study was undertaken to investigate in damaged rat liver induced by the CCI4. The serum activities of GOT,GPT,LDH,ALP and r-GTP were measured at 1,3 and 5 hour respectively after treatment of aqua-acupuncture of normal saline, Gentianae scabrae Radix and Bupleuri Radix Extract at the bilateral loci corresponding to Gan Su(B_(18)).
The results were summarized as following.
1. There was a decrease of serum GOT activity after treatment of aqua-acupuncture of Gentianae scabrae Radix and Bupleuri Radix in damaged rat liver induced by CCI4, although the difference was not significant.
2. A significant decrease of serum GPT activity was observed in damaged rat liver induced by CCI4 treated aqua-acupuncture Gentianae scabrae Radix and Bupleuri Radix.
The level of decrease in serum GPT activity was higher after treatment of aqua-acupuncture Bupleuri Radix than aqua-acupuncture Gentianae scabrae Radix.
3. A significant decrease of serum LDH activity was observed in damaged rat liver induced by CCI4 treated aqua-acupuncture Gentianae scabrae Radix and Bupleuri Radix. The level of decrease in serum LDH activity was higher after treatment of aqua-acupuncture Bupleuri Radix than aqua-acupuncture Gentianae scabrae Radix
4. There was seen a significant decrease of serum ALP activity at 5 hour after treatment of aqua-acupuncture Gentianae scabrae and Bupleuri Radix in damaged rat liver induced by CCI4.
5. There was seen a significant decrease of serum r-GTP activity at 1 and 3 hour after treatment of aqua-acupuncture Gentianae scabrae and Bupleuri Radix in damaged rat liver induced by CCI4. The level of decrease in serum r-GTP activity was higher after treatment of aqua-acupuncture Gentianae scabrae Radix than aqua-acupuncture Bupleuri Radix.
